Fun Fact: I'm going to lose Camp NaNoWriMo

Hey Guys.

Truth of the matter is. I am not going to hit my word count this month. I am very gutted. But that is life. I have been very busy. I've been trying my best to reach some sort of word count. This does not mean I am going to stop writing this story. I will continue. It's just going to take me a bit longer than I thought.

But the characters are still alive and happy. As you can see.

Cook, Effy, & Freddie

Make sure you are keeping up with my pinterest board. HERE. I pin a lot on that board. I am going to do an interview with my characters for my next post. This should be interesting. So that is coming for you on the weekend.
That is me for today.

How to find a plot for your story

Hey Guys.

So I had this question asked in the comments. So I thought I would try and answer it the best I could. First off. I am not a professional writer. I do what I can when I can. Half of the time I don't know what I am doing. I try to be a bright cookie. So here is how to find a plot for the story you want to write.

I struggle with finding plots, or if you're a writer, you will know it as a plot bunny. Everyone gets them in different ways. I tend to find my stories concept first. Then will stumble upon a plot later on.
So first off to start a story.
You are going to need Characters. And a world to put them in. You will find that you will find more characters while you start to write. They will turn up, and you will just be like "Oh hey there." And they will be like. "Yeah hey. So I'm just going to come in and be a big part of the story now. Thanks."  It will happen. All I can say is go with it.

So once you have a character or two. Start to think of the world they grew up in. Who are they? What do they do? All these will come when you are writing. But it's good to have all this at the back of your mind.

Now for the answer to the finding a plot business. And that is. Plots can be found everywhere. You have to inspire yourself. I find my plots by having much alone time. Having a shower, listening to music, scrolling though endless pinterest pictures. Reading writing prompts.  (Just google writing prompts and it will come up with heaps.)

I don't know how to properly answer that question. I think that it will in the end just take time to find a plot. Sometimes you just need to start writing and the plot will come to you. If this helped. Please comment. Or give me some of your tips on how you find your plots. Sorry it wasn't an amazing post. I'm just a dreamer. That is how I do my stuff.

Quotes and songs // April camp NaNoWriMo

Hey guys.

So I thought it would be cool to share some random quotes from my WIP How to be Invisible and Rule the World. And some songs that are a big inspiration. This project is very near and dear to my heart, based on some of me and my friends experiences, and dreams of mine. My very first contemporary, and I am falling in love with it every time I think about it.
So as some of you may know; Pinterest is my biggest story inspirations. And I will randomly quote random things from my characters to caption the pictures. So the quotes are really all over the place. None in order.

My Life and a Once Upon a Time

Hello my beautiful readers.

Sorry I have not been posting. My life has been a mess of busyness, and sleeping when I have the smallest about of time to do so. I've also been sick, and had to miss a day of course the other day, resulting in missing a meeting in which a new project was handed out. I took the booklet home in order to read it, and hope that I was supposed to do it, and wasn't going fail, all cause someone forgot to hand me a piece of paper and tell me to do work... not happening.
I am so behind in my story. I am going to say right now, that there is a very small chance that I will get to 40,000 at the end of this month. Please cheer me on though. I wish it wasn't this hard.

Though my story is on a role. That came on the ninth (???) day of camp NaNo. I was up at our friends house, my entire family and their family had gone to the last day of day camp, and I was at their house, all by myself. Up in the middle of no where, with nothing by their crazy farm dog who was tied up outside. I'm telling you, I have never been so nervous about staying anywhere by myself before. And I don't do well with silent houses...
So I had played some of their perfectly tuned piano, and locked myself in one of the houses darkest rooms. I was trying to write. But everything I had written before that sounded so bad and off plot, and unrealistic. So I went to the kitchen, and after reminding myself that I was the only soul in that house at the time, I started to speak my characters lines out loud as they came to mind, (all in this weird British accent...) and as I did that in my amazing accent, the perfect plot came to me. I had already got my characters, and concept, and a couple of key events. But not a plot. And it came to me. Hit me in the face. And for that, I am happy.

Exiting news; is that I wrote a synopsis for How to be Invisible and Rule the World. And made a quote picture for it. I am fully in love with this poetic piece. And with my story, and characters.

Once upon a time there was a troublemaker, and a trouble hider. One treasured attention and the other oblivion. One day they were brought together from their different worlds, and had to fight for life together, she wanted to hide herself from the world and he wanted to rule it. Not a love story, just two kids stupid and fearless.

Don't forget to check out my pinterest board on the story. How to be Invisible and Rule the World on Pinterest. I'll do another post soon. I also want to do a character interview. So if you have any questions for my characters, tweet me at @Queenie_Rachy or leave me a comment bellow. :)))

Beautiful People: (late) March Edition

Hello Readers.

I am a guilty human-being. I have been tagged for so many blog tags! But have done hardly any. I am going to do them... At some point... P.S this is very late.

Today I give you the Beautiful People link up. I am going to do both my main characters from my Camp NaNo novel How to be Invisible and Rule the World.

Halesia. I have determined that this actress is Halesia, which is why you see so many pictures of her here.
My brother and I settled on this being the best picture of my character.

Inga Wandering

What is their secret desire?

For Inga it would to be excepted and noticed. She is always on the outside. And even though she might make out like she doesn't care... she does.

What is the best and brightest moment they experience during the story?

When she and Gabriel get drenched on the way to homecoming/dance.  I feel like their friendship becomes something in this part, cause Inga starts to see Gabriel as a person... her views change. (moment worthy of applause)

What are the emotional places your characters are afraid to go to?

Inga though comes across like a seemingly strong person, suffers with anxiety and depression that she tucks away. I still don't know her well enough though...

Is there a place/city/room where they will never go? Why?

She hates going to the hospital. I'm not confident, but I believe she was rather sick as a child and had to go there a lot. And it was always hard to get her to go anywhere. But now she refuses to go anywhere near it.

If they were permanently leaving town, what would they easily throw out? What would they
refuse to part with? (Why?)

I don't think she would hold on to much. The one thing she would refuse to part with would be her dog. He will go with her to the end of the earth.

What do they want (consciously and tangibly)?

Acceptance, security,  and someone to care about her. To be free from a cage of her sufferings.

On the other hand: what do they need (on the emotional, subconscious level)?

She needs mental help. She keeps a lot locked up that no one really knows about. And not even she is willing to admit it.

If they could change one thing about themselves, what would it be?

She would change her name. She doesn't like it. She would much rather someone call her Wander than Inga.

What is the most humiliating event of their life?

She had a panic attach in the hallway at school...

What things do they turn to when they need a bit of hope?

She has this jar on her windowsill with a label on it saying ADVENTURE  fund; where she puts all her spare money in.

Gabriel Henderson

What is their secret desire?

Secret meaning deep down. He want's people to know the real him. He's so busy putting on the person everyone else wants to see, that he starts to forget who he really is.

What is the best and brightest moment they experience during the story?

When Inga lets him give her a piggy back.
What are the emotional places your characters are afraid to go to?

Not sure....

Is there a place/city/room where they will never go? Why?

For Gabe it's his grandfathers house. It was always to big for him. And he got lost when he was two.

If they were permanently leaving town, what would they easily throw out? What would they
refuse to part with? (Why?)

Though Gabriel has a lot of stuff.  I think he would be able to part with most of his things. He might not be able to part some of the stuff his mother's given him. I don't know what those might be though.

What do they want (consciously and tangibly)?

To learn the art of oblivion. And to understand everything.

On the other hand: what do they need (on the emotional, subconscious level)?

I really think that he just needs someone to be there when the waves are to big.

If they could change one thing about themselves, what would it be?

He hates his nose. I don't know. He is generally happy with his outward self. But he hates his inward self. And wants to change. (But he's perfect)

What is the most humiliating event of their life?

He hates failing. He once was playing the piano on stage, and forgot a part. That left him feeling very humiliated. And useless.,.
What things do they turn to when they need a bit of hope?

His activities. Mostly his sport and music.

So this post is very very very late. And I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while. Hope you enjoyed getting to know my characters a bit more. I will be doing interviews with them later in the month. So please ask questions in the comments. Or tweet me with some @Queenie_Rachy.

Progress: Day seven (camp NaNo April)

Hey Guys.

This is going to have to be short. The last couple of days I was at Easter Camp and wrote hardly anything. Many reasons. But let me be honest, it is hard to write when on a camp. I will tell more about camp in a nothing post. (sneak peak: I inured my leg on the Friday and couldn't move it for five hours. I will share more later...)  So I am currently up the north of New Zealand staying with some friends for an entire week. I'm very privileged to have internet right now.

I am very very very behind in my word count. My target word count is now 40,000. And today I should be at 9,333 words. But I am only at 2,264. As you can tell I have a lot of work to do. Yesterday when trying to write I go so stuck cause I had not writing myself out an outline with pin pointed events. I thought I could do it with out it. But that failed greatly. So I ended up writing out the outline for part one.
Just now I am about to start writing, cause I seem to do it better at night. I put down Writing into my spotify search, I clicked on the first playlist that came up. And it is the best writing playlist ever!!! Playlist Here you're welcome.

I will catch you all a bit later.
